For starters, the loss of her father at a young age, living without the comforts of a structured home, (not just a physical one, but a metal one as well). Having firsthand knowledge how frustrating it is to see, her mother in one failed relationship after another. And her mother trying her damnedest to make sure her children have the basics, without having them exposed to the truth, to where the money is actually coming from. Growing up without what her friends get to experience, (the money, clothes, brand spankingly new cars, whatever their hearts desire) it starts to eat away at your soul. Either you can turn into a bitter person and take the easy way out (prostitution, stripping, drugs or alcohol) or in Liberty's case transform yourself into a woman who can make it on her own. The ONLY way she knows how is with determination and a drive to succeed.

After having to raise her baby sister, Carrington, on her own after her mother passes away. She puts herself through school, becoming a hairdresser in an exclusive salon, moves away from the trailer park, to an apartment in Houston, and enrolls Carrington in a better elementary school. Her life is turning out better than she had ever expected.

However, when it comes to love and having a long lasting relationship, that's entirely challenging in itself. Especially since her heart, mind, and soul belongs to another, someone from her past life, who had possession over it so long ago. The person who she compares every man she's ever had a relationship with, Hardy Cates. The ONLY love of her life, that she could never have. Her best friend when she needed love and support as a young teenager, having difficulty understanding if life was always going to be the way it was mapped out for her. He gave her guidance and hope that she was worth more than what she had. And as much as she loved him, he loved her the same. But he had to leave and find his own way in life, and at the time it couldn't involve Liberty.

As Liberty says goodbye to one frog, her life turns a new leaf. In walks Churchill Travis, a billionaire oil tycoon. He ultimately makes an offer Liberty cannot refuse. He hires her to become his personal assistant. Liberty moves into his prestige mansion for two reasons. Always her first priority Carrington, to give her the life she could ONLY dream of, and the second to make it more convenient for all parties involved. She literarily would have to be at Churchill's beckoning call all the time.

Unfortunately a woman has to kiss several frogs to capture her prince, who steps into Liberty's life, Churchill's oldest son, Gage. The gratifying experience she shares with Gage, is beyond her expectations, especially when they first meet. The more a person becomes infuriating with the other, the more passionately you are involved.

As soon as Liberty believes everything is as she has always wanted, life has a way of knocking you off balance. Who is the reason for this natural disaster, none other than Hardy Cates himself. After years of separation, hidden emotions, lasting fulfillment, could Liberty decide on her new or old love? This novel is not disappointing what so ever, at every angle it will leave you repeating over and over again in your head the words, "Oh, My God!" When I was reading this story, I felt like I was living vicariously through Liberty, during her trials and tribulations. When Lisa Kleypas writes about the oil industry, and the billionaire families that thrive from it. I felt like a child, waiting for Friday night to come, when I use to watch Dallas with my mother. Of all the novels I've read by LK, this & a few others are my most favorite. For this one, she DESERVES WELL BEYOND A 10-20 STAR RATING!!

Constance O'Day-Flannery's "Time Kissed Destiny"

I WANT TO BE STRANDED ON A DESERTED ISLAND W/MICHAEL!!

Constance O'Day-Flannery has lassoed me in & kept me under tight reins w/the rope I've been snared in. In merely an hour, I read the first 100 pages, I've never read anything that quickly before. This novel will literally have you on the edge of your seat, capturing you're full attention until the very end. The connection & ignited fire Michael & Kate possess is absolutely breath-taking.

 

Even though this novel was written in "87" it's extremely easy to relate to. I've just bought other novels written by Constance, & I'm literally ecstatic to read them. This novel definitely DESERVES WELL BEYOND A 5 STAR RATING!!

Lisa Kleypas' "Then Came You"

Life Was Meaningless Until You Arrived, Should Be the Title of this Novel!

The description located on the back cover of this novel is a facade, a ploy to tantalize you into purchasing it. Once you're captured, it snares your mind, and every thought you possess. Keeping you trapped against your will of ever escaping. Even this review will not reveal it's concealed mysteries.However I will tell you, the hidden indulgent moments, and the sexual escapades between Alex & Lily, have by far surpassed every expectation I had. Lily is an independent hellcat, a spitfire, rebellious, defiant, determined, and intelligent woman. Once meeting Alex, initially Lily presumes he's nothing more than a cold-hearted brute, who will eventually cause emotional and possible physical harm toward her sister, Penelope, if they marry.

 

Since Lily & Alex constantly clash, and are at each other's throats most of the time, the ignited sparks of fire that burn between them never cool down. Alex being the controlled, sophisticated gentlemen becomes this unworldly passionate, lustful creature. Diminishing all of Lily's defenses. He literally is the epitome of what all women want, or possess in their husbands or lovers. Besides being a protector, and possessing the financial stability to live in one's lifestyle. Ultimately it's the acceptance of never, ever changing the woman they've become. Now that's a true treasure to behold.

If you enjoy Lisa Kleypas's other novels, this one will not disappoint you, I promise. In my book, she ALWAYS DESERVES WELL BEYOND A 5 STAR RATING

This novel has my seal of approval, and as usual, ALWAYS DESERVING WELL BEYOND A 5 STAR RATING!!

Lisa Kleypas' "When Strangers Marry"

AN INTRIGUING, UNEXPECTED, EROTIC TALE!!

I was blown away by this novel. The intimacy between Max & Lisette was mind-blowing. Even though these two very different, strong willed individuals encountered each other completely by accident, and married as absolute strangers; the revelation discovered is that they were ultimately made for one another, in every single aspect. Not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.This novel was an invigorating, intoxicated passionate tale, that included an extraordinary amount of twists & turns. It will have you guessing, and on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I was extremely pleased with this book, not just because it was an exquisitely written love story, but an informative US History lesson as well. I was flabbergasted to come to the realization that even though after more than two hundred years, we as American's CANNOT learn from the mistakes of our forefathers from the past to take care of our unexpected future. That even back then there were crocket politicians being paid off by other countries, to commit treasonable acts against us. And at the same time running our free and glorious country as well. Thank You Ms. Kleypas for reminding me that history always repeats itself.

Lisa Kleypas' "Suddenly You"

REMARKABLY DELICIOUS EROTIC RENDEZVOUS!!

Scoundrels, Rakes, Rogues, galore when reformed they become MAGNANIMOUS MEN, & ENTICINGLY APPETIZING HUSBANDS. This novel, Lady Sophia's Lover, & Devil in Winter, are by far the greatest erotic novels written by Lisa Kleypas, I've read thus far. Yes, it can be overwhelming explicit at times. And yes, I did blush & became embarassed; however, the revelation discoverd at the conclusion by Jack & Amanda is GROUNDBREAKINGLY EXQUISITE, well worth the read.Every single novel written by Lisa Kleypas, is overwhelmingly surprising, and I'm intensely infacuated with them. All the characters within in LK's series are basicly interlaced with each other, therefore, to fully comprehend them you should start with the first novels that were written. Don't do as I have, I started with Mine Until Midnight. And, I've been working backwards since; however, I'm extremely enthused with discovering the triumphs of the characters who have been mentioned. AS USUAL LK DESERVES A 5 STAR & BEYOND RATING!!

Lisa Kleypas' "Somone to Watch Over Me," (Bow Street Runners Series, #1)

IRREFUTABLY ANOTHER LK SURPRISE!!

I initially purchased this novel two months ago, before my mind was tightly wrapped within the whirlwind of the Wallflower & Hathaway Series. Every time I completed a book within those series, I would constantly glance and push aside this novel. And, still purhcase other Lisa Kleypas novels in the process.What an enormous mistake on my part. This novel has suited my needs completely. Having to deal with my own sibling frustrations within the past few months. This novel has opened my eyes regarding the behavior and characteristics of my sister and I possess. How devastatingly different we are, just as the main characters within this book. However the revelation of the fact, she and I can find true happiness with whatever we decide to do with our future; regardless, if one doesn't agree with the other. Thanks to Lisa Kleypas I have found immense comfort with this novel.
As usual I'm infatuated with every single novel written by Lisa Kleypas, I've read thus far. I'm extremely eager to continue with this series, and read the other novels by LK. Mrs. Kleypas is a distinguished, remarkable, talented, superlative novelist of all time, and one of my most favorite authors. UNDOUBTEDLY ALWAYS DESERVING A 5 & WELL BEYOND STAR RATING!!!
